New Year, New Mindset!!

Here we are, 2022 has arrived.

For some it’s a welcome after a tough year and for others the uncertainty of what a new year might bring can be scary and overwhelming.

Every year I see on social media the lists of goals and “New Years Resolutions” that we all promise to make and achieve in the following year.

Hey, I love that feeling of starting a fresh and the wonderful possibilities that come with it. I also love goal setting and working hard to see them come to fruition.

I am a coach after all. 😉

However, what I see all too often, are resolutions that are full of restrictions. As if we haven’t had enough of them to last a lifetime.

I won’t eat this, I will stop doing that. Starting the new year with a list of what not to do’s, to me, feels so hard and such a waste of our energy.

General statistics show that only around 7% of people that set New Years Resolutions actually stick to them and see them through.

Here’s my plan for 2022. I am going to concentrate on adding things to my life. Enriching it in as many ways as I possibly can.

  • I will add in more fruit and vegetables to my diet.

  • I will add more time to exercise.

  • I will add to my skillset by continuously learning.

  • I will add to my relationships by being present and supportive.

  • I will add more downtime and enjoy my self care unapologetically.

  • I will add to this year by giving back wherever I can.

So this is my new years resolution, a theme of adding to my life rather than pulling it apart and depriving myself.

My next step is to make a plan and map out a timeline for these goals.

I will find a way to measure how well it is going and I will celebrate myself as I go!

My message to you for this New Year is to take a look at why you set goals, who are they really for? Do they add to your life or will they actually make you miserable?

Consider the mindset of adding to your life and aiming to enhance it in whatever ways feel true to you!

I would love to hear your goals in the comments and any hints and tips to inspire others.

Wishing you peace, love and happiness for 2022, may it be all you have dreamed of and more!
