If you were hoping for an elegant exciting #pregnancy post I'm sorry to disappoint.
I'm talking about #lockdown. I started writing a blog post back in August 2020 about what I had learned in lockdown and lone behold we were gifted another one before Christmas and now as I write this we are in #lockdown3.
Your situation, your story, your way!
Ok I'm going to be completely honest here and it's not intended to do any more than share my story with you. Covid19 has swept across the globe and caused devastation almost everywhere it has landed. Families have been pulled apart. Almost every industry has been touched or tainted in some way due to closures and restrictions. Businesses have had to find a speedy response in order to continue trading online. I am not denying it has been a trying time to say the very least.
However, I can't be the only person that has quite enjoyed the time to reflect and learn. As I have mentioned there is a blog post coming up with my lessons from lockdown but that's a list that keeps on growing and to be honest that kind of excites me.
Why am I sharing this with you?
Every one of us has a different story to tell. Our situations are all as wonderfully unique as we are. For some, getting dressed has been the most important part of their day and a triumph considering how they are feeling. Others have started businesses. Yes, you read that right started businesses in the midst of these lockdowns. We are learning new ways to communicate and as we hear so often, staying safe by staying apart.
The reason I am writing this post is because I have had clients prioritise themselves for the first time in their lives. They have worked hard to re-evaluate their situations, what their life purpose is and how they choose to live when our new normal comes in to play.
And after all of that hard work.....they feel bad because they feel happy. They feel bad because lockdown has allowed them to find a new passion for life.
Feel bad for being happy? I can see why you feel like this. People have lost loved ones, businesses, jobs. I see all of this. Would you believe that some of the people that started their journey in lockdown have had all 3 of what I have just mentioned land at their door during the last 10-11 months?
We mention so often the impact the virus has had on our mental health and I'm almost sure we have all had a bad day/week/month since this started, however, we are all different.
This is not the case for everybody and we shouldn't feel that we can't celebrate the wins, search for happiness and revel in it when its found.
Maybe there's a secret sauce to this.....Perhaps if we reflect and set goals no matter how big or small and work hard to achieve them and celebrate our wins where we can, the last year may in fact be the gift we had all been waiting for.
I hope to support as many people as possible to find their calm during this storm but you better believe we will be celebrating! 😉
Share your wins in the comments and inspire others!
Remember, just because the chapter is scary, it doesn't mean the story stops! ❤
